Indian Lake is 4 1/2 mile long and 1 mile across. It is a warm lake and perfect for swimming and fishing. This is a real plus as most lakes in Maine tend to be cold. April 01,2006 We applied and received a building permit for a new building on the waterfront lot. The permit expired this year but the variance still exists with the town. The permit would allow replacement of the boat house with a 2 story 1200 sq ft total, accessory building to be used for a bunk house or boat house. The permit we applied for had restrictions and it will not allow for a septic without other changes. Details on request. You will have to drill a well but that is a straight forward proceedure.
